Carl Gustav Magnusson is considered one of the industry’s most acclaimed designers. Swedish born and educated in architecture, he worked with The Office of Ray and Charles Eames in Venice CA, then opened his namesake studio in Rudolf Schindler’s house in LA. With Knoll he worked 3 decades as Director of Design in Paris, London, Milan and NewYork.
He commissioned designers ranging from Ettore Sottsass, GianFrancoFrattini, Ross Lovegrove, Frank Gehry to Maya Lin. He founded the Knoll Museum and established the visionary Knoll Design Symposium at the Cranbrook Academy of Art.
