Evan began his career learning about manufacturing processes and understanding how things are made. For almost two decades, he has designed and engineered products for residential, contract and healthcare furniture manufacturers. Not far into this process, he decided there were great opportunities to develop his own ideas.
His Studio, 608 Design Inc, began in 2007. The plan was to experiment with ideas that fused craftsmanship and technology. 3D CAD is used to design engineer products with the intent to incorporate storage in unused spaces and create unique methods of attaching structural components to one another. The difference is in the details.
In 2013, Evan joined forces with Nathan Buhler and Jorge Torres of BLDG workshop with Jim Moore to found the Bunkie Company. Utilizing a similar construction methodology found in furniture manufacturing, they began producing non-permit structures that have been installed across Canada and the USA.
